Guide to Ohio's Best Family Events this Summer

Summer is family time!  But what should you do with your family?  What summer adventures are kid-friendly?  How can you make summer memories that your kids will remember and cherish?

Believe it or not, Ohio has several summer events (including one here at Timbuk Farms!) you can attend.  Here are some of the best family-friendly summer events in Ohio that you should definitely check out.

Timbuk Farms Lavender Fest

You loved our Tulip Festival in the spring, so we’re doing Lavender Fest this summer!  It will be one of the best family-friendly events in central Ohio!

Immerse your family in the fragrant beauty of our lavender fields and take Timbuk Farms lavender home with you!

In addition to our gorgeous lavender, we’ll have live music, food trucks (with some of the yummiest food that kids will love), local vendors, and a Kids Fun Farm.  After you've enjoyed food, drinks, and family-friendly fun, visit our Garden Center.  Our Garden Center has all the gardening supplies you’ll need this summer plus thousands of the healthiest plants in Ohio.

Bring the kiddos and even take your family photos and professional photos at our idyllic farm.  Pro Tip: Do your family photos in the morning while everyone is clean.  Plus, morning light makes for beautiful family portraits.  Then, let the kids have fun and just be kids for the rest of the day!

Stay tuned to our website and social media for updates on Lavender Fest!

Tips for Making the Most of Your Summer Adventures

  • Plan Ahead: Check each event’s website for schedules, ticket prices, and parking information.  You may be able to purchase tickets and passes online so you can skip the crowds at the ticket booths.

  • Stay Hydrated & Sun-Safe: Summer days can be hot! So, be safe by packing plenty of water and by wearing sun-protective clothing such as hats and clothing with SPF ratings.  Also, reapply sunscreen regularly.

  • Wear Comfy Shoes: You'll be doing a lot of walking, so comfortable footwear is a must for happy feet!

  • Embrace the Spontaneity: While planning is good, sometimes the best memories are made when you let curiosity lead the way.  So, if something does not go according to plan, try to be flexible.

  • Capture the Moments: Take photos and videos, but also try to live in the moment so you can make the most of summer adventures and experiences with your family.

Summer in Ohio is a magical time for families to connect, explore, and create lasting memories. From the bustling energy of the State Fair to the calming environment of Timbuk Farms, there's a summer adventure waiting for every family. So get out there, enjoy the sunshine, and make this summer your best one yet!
