Spring is here in Ohio, and we’re excited for our 2nd Annual Tulip Festival on April 16th – April 30th!  For more details about our Tulip Festival, see below.

Springtime festivals can be exciting, wholesome fun for families.  These events can also help kids get back into nature after a long winter.  But where and when are these fun festivals?  Here are some of the best family-friendly springtime festivals in Ohio.

Pansy & Viola Festival

Stockslager’s Greenhouse & Garden Center is celebrating the spring equinox with its Pansy & Viola Festival.  Pansies and violas are some of the hardiest spring flowers, so it makes sense to celebrate these cold-tolerant, yet delicate, flowers.

Activities & Food

This Ohio spring festival will have live music, contests, flower-themed foods, discounted flowers, free flowers, educational talks, and tours of their greenhouses.

Timbuk Farm’s Tulip Festival

You didn’t think that we’d forget our own 2nd Annual Tulip Festival, did you?  While we don’t like to brag, our Tulip Festival is one of the best springtime festivals in Ohio for families.

Date

April 16th – April 30th, Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Cost

$10 entrance fee, but kids under 2 years old are free.

Activities & Food

Enjoy our newly opened garden center and our U-pick tulip fields.  We have over 500,000 tulips for you to choose from, and this sea of flowers makes for a beautiful backdrop for spring family photos or engagement pictures.  We’ll also have family-friendly activities, food trucks, live music, contests, and more.  Click here to pre-order your tickets.

Earth Day Extravaganza

This Ohio spring festival is at Osborn Metropark, and it celebrates plants, animals, and conservation.display.

Date

April 20th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Cost

Entrance to the extravaganza is free, but you may find yourself spending money at the food trucks and retail shops. 

Activities & Food

This is a family-friendly festival and will have numerous food trucks and shopping opportunities.  Also, there will be animals, a park run, crafts for kids, giveaways, face painting, caricature drawing, disc golf, and educational exhibits on the environment and conservation efforts.  Click here to see all of the vendors and activities for this spring festival.

Greater Columbus Cherry Blossom Festival

This springtime Ohio festival is at Franklin Park among more than 100 cherry trees.  The festival focuses on spring, Japanese culture, and other Asian cultures.

April 6th to April 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Activities & Food

Festival goers can enjoy games, prizes, Japanese drum performances, and Asian dances.  Participants can also check out exhibits and demonstrations of Bonsai, Japanese pottery, kite making, tea ceremonies, and more.  The food will primarily be Japanese, sushi, ramen (the festival even has a “ramen crawl!”), and other Asian cuisine.  You can find the activities for each day of this family-friendly springtime Ohio festival by clicking here.

Sugar Maple Festival

The Sugar Maple Festival is in downtown Bellbrook, Ohio.  The focus of this springtime event is, of course, maple syrup and maple treats.  However, there are several activities available for the whole family to enjoy.

Cost

The entrance is free, but the festival’s activities have their own price tags.  The cost largely depends on what you choose to do at this Ohio festival.  For instance, the pie eating contest is $10 per competitor and the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is $10 per adult, $5 for kids, or $25 per family.

Activities & Food

This Ohio festival will have live music, a dog show, a parade, shopping, games, crafts, and face painting.  You can also enjoy numerous maple-themed treats, and adults can visit the beer garden or wine tasting areas.
